Revere Wood Flooring is a wood flooring company based in Revere, MA, with more than 20 years spent refinishing, repairing and installing hardwood across this city and the ones around it. Most of what we work on is red oak laid between 1900 and 1960, eastern white pine in the oldest houses, parquet in the apartment buildings, and engineered plank in everything built since 2000.
We are a flooring crew, not a general contractor with a sander. That narrowness is deliberate: the difference between a floor that looks right in ten years and one that does not comes down to decisions made in the first hour on site, and those decisions are made better by people who only do this.
Our Approach

Every quote starts with measurements rather than a rate per square foot. On a solid floor we check what is left above the tongue, because a floor sanded four times has very little left to give. On an engineered floor we measure the wear layer before anyone promises it can be sanded.
Where water is involved we trace it back to where it came in, dry it and meter it before a single board is pulled, and we photograph and measure the room for the adjuster while the floor is still wet. Build year and painted surfaces are read before the sander is switched on, because Massachusetts runs its own lead-safe renovation rules on homes built before 1978, and the finishes we use are picked against the Massachusetts coating limits, which are tighter than the federal ones.
The second half of the job is the building, not the floor. Roughly one in five homes here sits in a building of fifty units or more, so work in condominium and apartment buildings is booked around the building’s own rules on rug coverage and underlayment, and around the freight schedule, the loading dock and the neighbors below rather than the unit alone. Two-family houses are done one floor at a time, so whoever lives on the other floor stays in the house while the work runs.
Vacant rental units are turned around inside the window before the unit is signed off and re-let. Where old radiators and risers came out, we weave patches in with matching boards rather than filler, and oak found under carpet, linoleum or paint is stripped of pad, staples, tack strip and adhesive before any sanding starts. Stairs are quoted by the tread and the riser, never folded into a square-foot number.
What We Do
We refinish wood floors, screen and recoat floors that are not ready for a full sanding, repair and match damaged boards, restore floors after water damage, and install solid hardwood, engineered hardwood and new wood stair treads. We refinish parquet and old pine, and we take carpet out and put hardwood down in its place. If you want to know which of those your floor actually needs, ask us for a free estimate — we will measure it, tell you honestly what it will take, and put a fixed price in writing before anything starts.
